Thunder crashed loudly outside as Harry buried his face into his pillow. Groaning he lifted his head slightly to take a glance at the clock that sat on his bed side table.
3:12am.
The storm outside had been raging on since before Harry had managed to drift off to sleep, but an especially loud crack of thunder had awoken him from his peaceful slumber and now it seemed almost impossible for Harry to even close his eyes for a few seconds before being rudely interrupted.
Just as Harry thought he would finally get some more sleep, a slick stream of light from the hallway seeped into his room as the door creaked open slowly.
“Harry?” A small voice almost whimpered from the door way.
Sitting up slowly, Harry directed his line of vision to the figure standing across the room.
“Lou?” His voice came out croaky, still half asleep, “Are you okay?”
“I-” A loud roar of thunder interrupted Louis before he could even reply, and he ran quickly towards Harry’s bed, jumping in and snaking his arms around Harry’s waist.
“I’m scared of thunderstorms.”
Harry’s heart swelled at the older boys words and he wrapped his arms back around him tightly. Louis buried his face into Harry’s chest as the younger boy laid a light kiss to his head.
“It’s okay, Boo. I promise, I’ll keep you safe.”
